September – Congratulations Sandringham College

September 26th – Sandringham College wins the VET in Schools Excellence Award at the Annual Victorian Training Awards.

ATEP’s CEO David Edgar sent this message to Jeni Ritterman, Careers Coordinator at Sandringham College.

“As a long standing supporter and provider to Sandringham College I just wanted to touch base on behalf of ATEP and pass on our sincere congratulations to yourself and the excellent staff involved with the development and successful  implementation of the many VET focused student learning pathways available at Sandy College in winning the VET in Schools Excellence Award at the Annual Victorian Training Awards on Friday evening.

It is indeed a major award and much admired by many secondary schools across the state.

I was in attendance on the night and your comments about the schools belief in providing these non-academic pathway experiences and options to students were spot on and good to hear in front of some key policy and funding decision makers.

As importantly, your words about  the contribution of the late Jenny Marks to the well-established VET programs at the college were wonderful and heartfelt.

Jenny was a great supporter of ATEP and a genuine champion of the VET pathway cause that’s for sure, it’s very evident to me and other youth and community based professionals in our local area that since her unfortunate passing and changes to the ongoing funding policies that support VET delivery in and out of school, you and the college have carried on that legacy extremely well.

Again, congratulations to you and the team.”
