On The Road To Work – Multi Industry Program

Dylan secured a carpentry apprenticeship upon completing the course and with his go-get-it attitude ATEP have every confidence he will go far …  read his story.

Earlier this year we ran a program combining a Certificate 2 delivered by Chisholm, work placement rotations at different employers, soft kill learning sessions, transport assistance and financial incentive upon successful completion.

This is 1 of our success stories.

Dylan Gray-Bice was the youngest participant to enrol in this group. Having disengaged from school he knew he wanted to be a builder…maybe.

What he maybe lacked in experience he more than made up for in willingness to work and enthusiasm, being quickly identified by his trainer as the ‘leader’ in his class and discovering his gift for working with carpentry. He quickly settled and rose to the challenges of work and has set himself apart as one to watch.

Dylan had work experience placements with four different employers, all of whom have praised his conduct and some even requesting him by name for more work, proving that not only was he leading the pack in class, he was impressing the employers out there in industry.

Dylan is always first to put his hand up and volunteer to do extra work. His jovial, easy-going nature has made him a favourite in TAFE as well as on the job proving that he can handle himself in a mature workplace and hold his own both in terms of workplace effort and congeniality.

Dylan rated the value of practical, work ready and placement as extremely valuable.

Dylan secured a carpentry apprenticeship upon completing the course and with his go-get-it attitude ATEP have every confidence he will go far – in fact we look forward to asking him to host some work experience youth one day when he has his own business!
