“Students shine at employer awards”.

 

Korumburra Secondary College student Jordan Anderson recently won Apprentice of the Year in the Community Projects category at the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Employment Partners awards (ATEP).

Jordan received the state-wide award for his work at Coal Creek while completing his Certificate II in Land Management and Conservation.

Jordan completed his School Based Apprenticeship in 2013 as part of his VCAL pathway at the college.

In the nomination Jordan was described as a dedicated apprentice who led by example with his focused approach and positive attitude to completing all work tasks.

During his time at Coal Creek Jordan was involved in the construction of retaining walls, improving the cottage garden, cleaning & clearing of land and the creek bed, propagation and regeneration of areas.

Fellow student Brad Wyhoon was also a deserving nominee for his work as a Hospitality Trainee at Coal Creek”
