A School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship is a nationally accredited qualification that is recognized throughout Australia and done as part of latter secondary schooling (Year 10, 11 & 12) which combines accredited apprenticeship / traineeship training and part time paid work, allowing the completion of 1st year apprenticeship TAFE training and work time over a 2 year period while completing secondary school.
Taking on a School Based Apprentice or Trainee
With the ATEP employment service you get all the advantages of employing a secondary student 1 or 2 days a week without having to take on all the “legal employer” responsibilities including costly advertising, lengthy recruitment processes and hassle of ongoing employment related paperwork, coordination of TAFE training and payroll / work cover claim administration.
ATEP employs apprentices and trainees and then places them with you for as long as you need them. We take care of everything, from the weekly payment of wages, allowances, taxes, superannuation, workers compensation, TAFE enrolments, personal protective equipment, to ongoing performance management, OH&S assistance and coordination of dismissal procedures.
As ATEP is the legal employer of the apprentice/trainee our after placement services are available throughout the duration of the Australian Apprenticeship or Host Employer placement.
