December – ATEP SBAT Graduations 2014
This month, ATEP has graduated a number of young school based trainees including the Korumburra Secondary College students who had undertaken their training in either Land & Conservation Management or Hospitality (Kitchen Operations) at the Coal Creek Community Park & Museum in Korumburra. This opportunity is as a result of the continuation of a partnership with the Coal Creek Community Park & Museum and the Shire of South Gippsland, without which these trainees would not have gained this opportunity.
ATEP has also graduated a number of other project trainees at Carrum Downs Secondary College and Westernport Secondary College and we look forward to continuing these important community partnerships in 2015.
Projects undertaken by our trainees include construction of a Wood Fired Pizza Oven and revegetation works at Coal Creek, Construction of a Community Garden Area and garden refurbishments at Carrum Downs Secondary College, Garden Maintenance and the Refurbishment of an outdoor Learning area at Rowellyn Park Primary School and the Construction of an outdoor deck area, disabled ramp and garden areas adjoining the Coffee and Conversation Café at Westernport Secondary College.
Our Hospitality Trainees have run the Coffee and Conversation Café at Westernport Secondary College as well as working with the Korumburra senior Citizens group as part of their training.
We congratulate all of the trainees on their achievements and thank all our partners.
