Apprentice & Trainees Brochure

Looking for life’s next chapter?

ATEP (Apprenticeship and Traineeship Employment Partners) is a ‘not for profit’, community based organisation, proudly in operation since 1987. The ATEP employment model is a unique form of labour contract, in which ATEP employs Apprentices and Trainees and then places them with the most suitable ‘Host Employer’ on a lease basis, for all, or part, of the Contract of Training period.

It’s a great way to learn a new profession or trade, work with successful people in your chosen industry, and start your new career with the right kind of guidance and security to get you on your way.

As the legal employer of the Apprentices and Trainees, we are committed and obligated to provide you work with one or more Host Employers – subject to work availability, sufficient skills and training progress, and satisfactory workplace performance.

As well as providing the Apprentice/Trainee with continuity of work for a fixed period, ATEP provides a program of structured on and off-the-job training to ensure your respective industry or trade qualification can be successfully completed (within the nominal time duration, as set out by the Victorian and Commonwealth Training Authorities).

Once you’re employed with ATEP, a Work Placement Officer provides support to both you and the Host Employer; by monitoring of your employment through an ongoing, scheduled visitation program, at both the place of work and TAFE training environment. Whilst also providing pastoral care and rotating you to an alternative Host Employer placement when necessary.
